Plaster Used:
Decorative Plaster- White, Tinted to Ben Terra Cotta
Pigment Used:
Hartford Henna
Tips:
Check and recheck measurements before and during all projects
Pigment can be adjusted lighter or darker to your preference using water to lighten and more pigment to darken.
Work pigment until you are satisfied with results
Step 1: Fill holes and prepare room by taping off ceiling, doors and trim.
Step 2: Using a flat paint tinted to Desert Tan mix one teaspoon of Creative Evolution's (CE)Grit Fortifier and shake well. Roll out entire room and let dry. This will create a surface with grit for maximum plaster adherence.
Step 3: Using a spatula, apply thin coats in a multi-directional patch-work over the surface; imagine yourself creating peaks and then valleys. ( When two people are working, one creates the peaks and the other will fill in the valleys.) This makes an even pattern of cross-hatching. Continue till all of the desired area is covered. Let Dry.
Step 4: Repeat step 3 to completion. For this second layer add skips with the trowel. Let Dry.
Step 5: Using CE's Glory Line Pigment, Hartford Henna, diluted in water about 3 tablespoons to a quart, rub in with sponge or brush until desired shade is attained, allow to dry. The wash is not permanent at this point and can be diluted with a wet sponge if color is determined to be too dark.
Step 6: To protect the look and keep the illusion of Leather we suggest the use of our Vanity Flat Wax. This can be applied with a regular household sponge. Another option is to use our Flat varnish which can be applied with a sponge, brush, or short pile roller.
